IN DE PAINT Dance x Heineken Music
Posted on September 3, 2015
Earlier this year Heineken Trinidad and Tobago embarked on an ambitious campaign to inject new life into our local music and night life scene.
This launch was perfectly timed to coincide with the annual In.De.Paint.Dance, Independence party by Caesar’s Army. Kyeon Constantine and I attended to capture the precious moments during the set of Lerbz and DJ Simmo, two Djs from Heineken’s distinguished four.
Tyrico Bay is probably the beach closest to my heart and home of all except one of the #NAEBL series of parties. I was happy to see Tyrico Bay full of happy people ready to dance the night, and well, morning away to the sounds of Soca and Dancehall.
The Heineken Music’s Dream Team took the stage before dawn and hyped everyone with the climax being the playing of the National Anthem of Trinidad and Tobago at dawn.
What was there not to love about a J’ouvert themed party on the beach? The music, free drinks and generally amazing Trinbago people made the experience unforgettable, all set in a spirit of unity and an celebration.
The energy was high as the crowd was soaked with paint and powder, creating a sea of multli-coloured, carefree partygoers from all over the Caribbean.
When we thought the party was over at 8am, the gates to the sea opened and patrons made this an IN DE WATER party! Drummers lined the shore whipping pulsating rhythms matched by many well oiled waistlines. The vibes continued indefinitely with some opting for a more chill sea bathing experience in the nearby maracas beach.
Caesar’s army is known for their popular events which include Mai Tai and A M Bush (which Rihanna attended this year during Crop Over season) among others. Next week I will post a short video of my IN DE PAINT experience courtesy Heineken Music.
